Training’s Dirty Little Secret
My latest article is up on the Management Issues site. It’s called “Training’s Dirty Little Secret”.
Here’s the secret in a nutshell…when was the last time you actually learned anything useful in a training class? I won’t reveal the name of the person who inspired this article, but she knows who she is….and she’s right.
Are you helping your team by getting them the RIGHT training? Do you confuse Learning and Training? What should we be doing about it (besides making all your people listen to this show of course)?
By the way I’m going to start conducting all my training sessions under bridges…it seems to be the only way to block Blackberry signals and keep people from checking email during class.
Now if I could only use my problem solving powers for good instead of evil…..
