I Don’t Have a Degree
At least not one that counts…. I was honored to contribute to Rosa Say’s “Ho’ohana” ( which is a fancy Polynesian way of saying month-long blog fest) on the topic of learning anyway.
Read the full article here. You’ll also find familiar names and former guests like Adrian Savage, Dan Ward, Lisa Haneberg and others besides Rosa Say herself.
We talked to Rosa back in September of 2005 about her book, Managing With Aloha. Even more than her book, I envy the community of bright people who regularly devour every word, support each other’s work and aspire to all the positive aspects of management and business without cynicism. Why they let me play is a mystery but God love’em.

Aloha Wayne!
We “let you play” because you keep crashing our playground, and are too much fun to keep out of it…
We let you play because we need some irreverence lest we take ourselves waaay too seriously. We let you play because you are one of the best writers I know when it comes to injecting some much needed humor into worklife.
And we let you play because anyone who calls his daughter “Her Serene Highness” knows who the real boss is when all is said and done.

I’m glad she let you (and me) play. I like a bit of piss-taking! (Can you say that on your blog?) It fits the style of Aussie humour. Maybe you’re a Canuck with Aussie heritage?

Heck yeah you can say it Chris… I need to watch my mouth but what the heck. Nah, I don’t think we have any Aussies in our family, I think our ancestors stole sheep from different flocks. Thanks for dropping by…take a listen while you’re here…..

Isn’t that the cool thing about all of this - it’s one’s ability to contribute that matters. Certifications, credentials or other pretty bits of colored paper neither prevent nor enable people to join in on the fun.
Closest thing to a meritocracy I’ve ever seen…
