Links to Start 2008

Welcome to another year of The Cranky Middle Manager Show. We have great things planned and even though most of the world has been on holiday of one kind or another for the last month, the blogosphere continues to thrive. Here are a few links you might want to know about- odds and ends that have come my way in the last couple of days…

  • Hey, I’m the Golden Slacker of the month! Phil Gerbyshak and Dave Zinger over at  Slacker Manager have given me a major award! Check out the post here... what a great way to start a scary, scary year…..
  • Why is it so scary? Because today marks the official launch of Greatwebmeetings.com my new company. Very intense feelings around Casa Turmel and CMM world headquarters….
  • Of course bootstrapping your own show is scary at the best of times, but there’s a good blog site called Bootstrapper you might like. Those of you drawing a steady paycheck (or pay cheque depending on your time zone) can sniff if you like. I’m not sure how I feel about the latest post on lazy employees but hey……
  • The new year’s post from Tom Peters is (as usual) worth reading. What does a brother have to do to get this guy to come on the show?????
  • Of course, the official sports franchise of the Cranky Middle Manager Show, the Chicago Shamrox start their season on Saturday…. Playoffs or bust this year….if only because there’s a certain listener in Minnesota who will never let me hear the end of it if they don’t

That’s it gang… 2008 is upon us.

We’ll see how far your Shamrox go this year. Last week I learned my 3 year old is now old enough to sit through an entire hockey game (with overtime!) Thus he is now able to sit through an entire Lacrosse game!

I refer to it as the bastard child of Hockey and Basketball played by light bulb looking guys.

Lacrosse is all of that, but growing up playing it and having the busted nose to prove it I do love the game. My daughter just goes for the fights but she’ll hang in as long as there’s the ever-present threat of violence. Yeah, no worries about that one in high school……

    Be good.
